Cinzia Arruzza talks with the Old Mole's Bill Resnick about Women's Strike USA and the book/pamphlet Feminism for the 99%: A Manifesto which she co-authored. They discuss the Women's Strike happening this Friday, March 8 in cities around the world, including Portland. Arruzza argues that Feminism shouldn’t start—or stop—with seeing women represented at the top of society. It must start with those at the bottom, and fight for the world they deserve. And that means targeting capitalism. Feminism must be anti-capitalist, eco-socialist and anti-racist.
The Portland strike, rally, and march begins at 4:00 pm on Friday at Pioneer Courthouse Square. For more on the strike and the organization Women's Strike USA, check out Frann Michel's overview here.
