LOCAL ACTION TO FIGHT CLIMATE CHANGE AND UNFAIR LABOR PRACTICES

Clayton Morgareidge hosts this show about the power of the people: mass action to deal with climate change, and workers’ action for fair wages.

  1. Slow Motion Commotion will be happening this Friday, Sept. 27 at Portland’s City Hall to holding the City Accountable for its role in global warming. We will talk with one of the organizers, Diane Meisenhelter.
  2. Bill Resnick talks with two of the students who participated in last Saturday’s Climate Strike and where the movement needs to go next.
  3. Grocery workers are calling for a boycott of  Fred Meyer Stores as they negotiate for better wages and gender equity. Joe Clement talks with Kelly McAllister from the United Food and Commercial Workers about their demands. This is the extended conversation with material not heard on air.
