Internet service providers rank among the lowest in customer satisfaction. But what if internet access worked like a public utility, like electricity or water?
That's where Municipal Broadband PDX comes in. They are an advocacy organization pushing for broadband in Portland to become a publicly-owned utility. Internet access is an increasingly necessary part of everyday life, and for advocates of this idea, as it becomes less of a luxury expense, it should be democratized, and accessible for all people.
KBOO's Michele Coppola spoke with Michael Hanna and Russell Senior of Municipal Broadband PDX about their vision of the Portland's internet future.
