Views, Reviews, and Interviews from a Socialist-Feminist, Anti-racist and Anti-colonial Perspective

Rise Up! Bill Resnick speaks with Whitney Maxey, a community organizer with Memphis For All. She also serves on the national executive committee of Liberation Road, a socialist organization working for radical social change. Bill and Whitney discuss her personal journey through basketball and engineering to community organizing, why a Black socialist would vote for Joe Biden and the pathway to a radically democratic and sustainable world.

Breaking Down: Patricia Kullberg speaks with Dr. Jan Haaken about her new book, Psychiatry, Politics and PTSD: Breaking Down. The book could be called a biography of a diagnosis, namely post-traumatice stress disorder. But it is also a profound meditation on human suffering and the way it is managed in the context of late capitalist societies.

The Thin Green Line is People: Laurie Mercier speaks with fellow moles Desiree Hellegers and Roben White, co-creators of the new online resource and tool kit, "The Thin Green Line is People: Documenting Pacific Northwest Fossil Fuel Resistance". Forged out of a commitment to document the ongoing struggle to keep the Pacific Northwest from becoming a toxic fossil fuel transport corridor, this project was inspired by the courage and commitment of ordinary people speaking out and standing up. Start up funds for the project were provided by the Center for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at Washington State University Vancouver.
