On last month’s Left and the Law, Jan Haaken and Mike Snedeker reviewed some of the inspiring victories in local elections on November 4th around the country, from decriminalization of drug possession to progressive prosecutors winning in various cities. Today, they look at the national legal landscape, from the right-wing appointments to the Supreme Court to the hundreds of Trump appointments to federal courts approved by the Senate. A key question centers on how much movements for social justice depend on rulings by these courts.
