A little capitalism goes a long way…All the way to the incorporation of America, in fact. With The American Legislative Exchange Council leading the charge (Ho ho ho,’charge’? Put it on my card?) corporations are rewriting the modern American Book of Laws. In fact, The Rise of the Lobbyist lead to The Fall of the Occupier. Except in areas where resistance, activism, anarchism have been in the blood for some time, there is little curiosity when it comes to the Firm’s Finger of Fate writing laws that suit the firm not the family. Private prisons, Corrections Corporation of America; Halliburton and Dynacorp in Iraq; the charter school movement…and of course, ALEC, a product of the revolving door that churns the shining waters of Washington DC.
And some of the corporations fighting over American spoils are not even based in the US.
