David Cohen on the adverse effects of psychotropic drugs and psychiatric drug withdrawal

Host Will Hall interviews David Cohen, Professor at the School of Social Work at FloridaInternational University.  His work focuses on describing and understanding the social, cultural, and clinical uses of psychiatric/psychotropic drugs. He has contributed to clinical practice by elaborating self-help and professional help methods for clients undergoing withdrawal from psychiatric drugs.

Dr. Cohen is recognized as an expert on the adverse effects of psychotropic drugs and on psychiatric drug withdrawal. He has authored over 100 articles in journals of psychology, sociology, social work, medicine, health policy, and law.  Dr. Cohen has edited or co-authored eight books, including Challenging the Therapeutic State (1990), Tardive Dyskinesia and Cognitive Dysfunction (1993), and Your Drug May Be Your Problem: How and Why to Stop Taking Psychiatric Medications (with Peter R. Breggin, M.D.).
