Diane Tweten of Citizens for Portland Water on privatization of water & challenging EPA LT2 rule
For over 100 years Portlanders have safely been drinking water from the Bull Run reservoir where it is treated organically and naturally, but in applying a "one-size fits all" rule the Environmental Protection Agency has mandated that the City cover its reservoirs and build filtration plants. The average Portland water bill could double in the next five years if the city complies. Host Stephanie Potter will talk with Diane Tweten of Citizens for Portland Water about how this issue relates to the trend of corporate influences toward privatization of water, and how Citizens for Portland Water is attempting to challenge the EPA ruling.
