Dogs who provide relief to chronic pain patients who respond to heat therapy
Host Allison Miliones interviews Nancy Gordon, the founder of the service dog advocacy organization Paws for Comfort. She believes that a Mexican hairless dog known as Xoloitzcuintli (or Xolo for short) can provide relief to chronic pain patients who respond to heat therapy. Gordon said that the symptoms of her chronic fibromyalgia have been significantly lessened thanks to her Xolo, Toaster – and as a result she has become an enthusiastic proponent of the breed, which has a centuries-old reputation for healing.
