WHOSE STREETS? OUR STREETS!!

WHOSE STREETS? OUR STREETS!!

On November 30th, 1999, the streets of Seattle were taken over by a people's revolt, the first of what would be many such uprisings against the secretive economic policies of the World Trade Organization,  Both inside and outside of the Seattle summit, seeds of discontent had grown into cries of outrage at the injustice of trade policies that favored profit over people and the environment.  Ten years later, we take a look back at the breaking point in Seattle in 1999, which marked the birth of both the Movement for Global Justice and the Indymedia network - what happened then, what's happened since, and where the Movement is at today.  Stay tuned for an all-day special from 8 am to 8 pm on Monday November 30th.

9am – Old Mole Collective: Focus on the historical significance of 1999 WTO protests - particularly on the unprecedented collaboration between labor/environmental groups.

luckily, or unluckily (depends how you look at it, as desperation and hard times may be more likely to affect change, at times, in time), i am unemployed and will be able to tune in (or out :) all day - thank you!  the attention, dedication, recognition, inspiration, realization, and finally, truth and love, is always appreciated.  warm regards throughout your day.  siempre, luchando...por paz y justicia...

I didn't saw this on the news that not until I've read about it today.  Well I just hope nobody got hurt during the rally.  It's so sad to see people being harassed by the authority.
