Just before the inauguration, we were able to talk with Linda Tirado, author of Hand to Mouth: Living in Bootstrap America. During the interview, she suggested that it would be important for people to keep truth diaries, so we will notice when goalposts get moved, and have confirmable reference points of how things have been.
The necessity of keeping track of how things morph seems to be underscored by events of each passing day. With so much being thrown at the public, so quickly, it is extremely challenging to sort out what's actually happening. Some of the challenges are simple overload (too much happening at once, makes us feel overwhelmed and powerless), distraction (trump says another outrageous thing, and Arnold quit the Apprentice #sad!), as well as the "leak" of information to see how it plays with the public- call it the fascist trial balloon effect. Trying to stay informed of what's happening with executive orders, the federal government, and new legislation can be very dificult.
We are at the 1/2 way point in this regime's first 100 days. While #TheResistance continues, many resisters are feeling overwhelmed and fatigued.
Please join Lyn and Ani to discuss how we can work more sustainably. We are living in a state of emergency- how do we take care of ourselves and our communities, while continuing to push forward the ideas that we are fighting for?
