Doug McVay is an editor, journalist, researcher, and social justice advocate. He first became active in drug policy reform efforts when he organized a NORML chapter at the University of Iowa in 1983.

At KBOO, Doug volunteers in the News and Public Affairs departments, where he reports, does interviews, and produces public affairs programs including Century of Lies, Free Culture Radio, and the occasional edition of Prison Pipeline. He's been a producer on the evening news and has from time to time co-anchored the evening news.

He is employed by the Real Reporting Foundation and serves as Editor of Health Systems Facts and Drug Policy Facts.
